JOB TITLE: Shift Lead Foreman

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

Job Description:
As a role model for all personnel of our company, the primary purpose of production management activity is to provide daily oversight of and assist in the production operations, quality control, scheduling activities, and any tasks that lead to the goal of continuous improvement and efficient production of fabricated parts.

Past Experience:
Metal Stud Framing and Panelization of: Walls and Trusses; Commercial or Residential Framing Lead Foreman; Have worked in a production environment; Team Leader with "Best Practices" Prior Training.

  Daily Tasks
ProductionDistribute daily production logs to key station personnel, train all personnel on proper collection of all relevant production rates, consolidate logs into daily production reports to submit to upper management as directed. Training and Oversite of fabricated parts and assemblies on a timely basis. Keep track of production man hour by job and task.
Quality ControlSpot check each station a minimum of three times per day to verify quality of all manufactured parts per each division. Report to upper management any quality control issues and implement immediate actions to resolve QC issues.
ProductionSpot check each station a minimum of three times per day to verify quality of all manufactured parts per each division. Report to upper management any quality control issues and implement immediate actions to resolve QC issues.
Cleanliness and OrganizationMaintain a clean and safe working environment. As Lead Foreman, your management extends to all areas of the plant. It is required that all areas remain clean and organized from the plant floor to the break room and restroom.
SchedulingCreate and distribute production daily schedules for all personnel. Schedule trucks for project material deliveries to and from the building.
Tool ManagementOversee and assist with end-of-day tasks requiring all toolsbeing returned to station cages and stored per manufacturer's requirements, and that all tools have been inspected for damage for possible repair or replacement. All tools must be cleaned on a regularily scheduled maintenance rotation.
LockoutWork with Plant Manager to develop, document, and implement standard procedures for the start and end of each production shift. Procedures are to be established for the facility and all equipment per OSHA and Transcon guidelines.

  Weekly Tasks
TrainingProvide safety or procedural training to all personnel and collect signatures from all attendees. All training is to be stored in training log book.
Fabrication TimeDocument production hours per all personnel, report weekly summaries to Office Manager.
Equipment Maintenance Oversee monthly equipment cleaning and general maintenance . Four primary divisions are to be scheduled for monthly maintenance. Each division receives one focus week per month (Roll forming, Make-ready, Expansion, and Injection).
Project Material Inventory Oversee or perform end-of-project material usage reports for each product class. Submit reports to Controller for estimate vs. actual comparisons.
Production Meetings Attend and contribute to weekly production meetings for department updates, forecasts, and continuous improvement tasks.
ReceivingTrain and manage personnel in proper receiving procedures that include: quantity counts, parts conformance, documentation collection & signatures, and inventory update utilizing companies established forms and programs.
ShippingScheduling of date, time and required personnel for loading of materials. Establish loading location and required equipment. Pre-determine loading strategy and all bracing requirements for overall safety of load.
Continuous ImprovementEstablish weekly meetings with all floor personnel to discuss areas of improvement related to efficiency, safety, communication, and general needs. Results of meeting to be presented during weekly management meetings.

  Monthly Tasks
InventoryOversee and or perform monthly inventory on all company relevant materials, tools, and consumables. Submit inventory reports to Plant Manager.
